Randomness From the Last Month or so

Tonight is Young Women in excellence. I was asked to re-create a Mormon ad for the event. (This is one of those little photoshop projects I was talking about in my last post) The Young Women leaders needed to have a lot of these printed in an economical manner. I made this 4x6 with three 2x4 cards on it. I love the sentiment and plan to print one myself for my scriptures. I also made an 11x13 version to sit on the table. I made four versions for the leader to choose from and this is the one she selected. It's the first one I made. I loved the unique flower and thought it worked perfectly with the message. I was glad that she chose this version. I hope the girls love it.

This year was the most amazing year for growing peppers. My garden froze and died a few weeks ago but it kept producing peppers until the bitter end. I grew full grown, full fledged, grocery store quality green peppers. Usually mine aren't very large and the flesh is thin. Oh and I get one, maybe two if I'm lucky. Not this year! I got more than I could use. I was so excited. I put the ruler behind this one but you can't see. It was almost four inches tall. I also got dozens of jalepeno's. My dad said they were the hottest peppers he'd ever had.

Emma helped so much in the garden this year. She would water when asked but her favorite thing to do was harvest. You should have seen the look on her face when she brought in 17 jalepenos! Next year she is going to be totally in charge. Growing and caring for a garden is going to be her big Personal Progress project for Faith. I can't wait to see how it goes.

The Saturday before Halloween J & D asked us to join them in a round of mini-golf. The weather was perfect. It was the most wonderful fall day anyone could ask for. I am so glad that we got this chance to enjoy the warm sun and the cool crisp breeze before it all went away. We had a lot of fun playing 18 holes. I was the looser of the bunch but I think it's because I was also the most honest LOL! The kids loved being with their cousins. After golf we had a few minutes to visit back at the house while eating yummy treats. What more can you ask for?

Andrew thought the Halloween Kit Kats this year were awesome. I agree!

Andrew asked me to give him Wolverine hair for crazy hair day. This is what we came up with.

We had some chicken street tacos recently. (no recipe, just made seasoned chicken and topped it with pico) It was sooo sooo sooo good. I guess that's what happens when you can't find good Mexican food. You have to figure out how to make your own.

I bought a bag of these because they were cute. They were so sweet. Almost too sweet for even me. They all got eaten though. I will be on the lookout for more next year.

"What are you looking at?" He's still a total turd!

I've had a few friends ask me to snap some pictures for them recently. I don't mind but doing it but I'm always worry that I am going to disappoint them. Oh well. In the end they've seemed satisfied and I guess you can't beat free right? Here is Maggie with her cute family. I also got to make their Christmas card. (The other little photoshop thing I did recently)

I also got to take pictures for two amazing young men who were leaving on their missions. I'm friends with both of their moms so I've known these boys for years. It was a lot of fun for me to see how these boys have grown and matured over the last eight years. They were so excited you could feel it radiating off of them. This experience meant more to me than I can ever say. It was such a positive experience for me and it blessed my whole family. It has opened up the doors for a lot of conversations about service and missionary work. I can't thank these two guys enough for their examples.

Brayden

Nate

These two were had so much fun together. I should post some of the out-takes LOL!

I also got to take some family pictures for Michelle before Nate left. I know I'm not a pro (or even close to it) but I hope they enjoy having these pictures. I enjoyed taking them and spending time with their family. They are a fun bunch!

A couple of weeks after the pictures were taken we got to go to Michelle's for a wonderful grilled chicken dinner with dutch oven potatoes and peach crisp. We felt so spoiled. Everything was delicious. We got to listen to Becca read her talk for family home evening that night and Emma and Andrew got to play outside with Kayla and all her fun neighbors. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.

What a fun variety of pictures. Love the YW ad; very beautiful with the perfect scripture for young women and all of us. Great pictures of the kids golfing and having fun. You did a fabulous job on the photos for your friends. They too, are lucky to have you in their lives. Again, you are talented in so many areas.
