Who Doesn't Love Free?

On the 11th of every month the gas station closest to us has free soda. We've only taken advantage of this offer twice so far. We hate to admit it but we sort of love getting a big fat soda for free. You just walk in, fill up and show your cup on your way out the door. What's better than free?

Hipsta Overload

See the rainbow?

Summer war wounds from falling off his bike

Marius loves his daddy.

Big Boy Bike

I have big plans for this baby. If all goes like I think it's going to this is coming on a girls quilting weekend to St. George in July. I hope everything goes as planned.

Sweet potato fries are a little bit of heaven on earth.

My favorite place to get sweet potato fries.

I couldn't decide which I liked better. They are really close to being identical.

Enjoying our new patio furniture.

Our first meal outside.

The lighting was not my friend. Beef kabobs, rice, grilled peppers and red skinned mashed potatoes.

Pretty evening relaxing outside.

Enjoying our back yard.

Sunset.

Why are boxes always so much fun?

Because the possibilities are endless.

Letting Andrew play with fire is never a good idea.

S'mores.

Creepy!

The best picture of all time. Look what the flash did to Marius's eyes. LOL! I love this picture so very very much.

A little tunnel we passed through coming down from the cave.

Same tunnel. I think.

Appetizer after our cave tour.

Smart cookie is a new favorite. Thanks to City Deals' discount gift certificates I have a lot of pictures of cookies these days.

Smart cookie has ice cream too.

Uh oh. I've got Paul doing it too. Twice the hipsta prints!

To celebrate Paul finishing his stats class we went to dinner at the creamery. Guacamole burger with garlic fries followed by chocolate peanut butter ice cream = my perfect meal.

Pink sunset.

Same cookie and ice cream taken from Paul's phone.

Paul's shot of our appetizer.

The main course.

Paul's dinner.

Emma Bear!

It's the ropes and the reins, And the joy and the pain, And they call the thing rodeo

(Thanks to Garth Brooks for the title. I love that song!)

Wednesday night Paul and I took the kids to the Strawberry Days Rodeo. We got there early enough to watch Mutton' Bustin and stayed long enough to see the bull riding. It was the longest we've ever stayed. (When you're in your late 30's anything over three hours on bleachers is too long. Our backs were aching!) We had a lot of fun though. Here are some pictures from our evening.

There are a few reasons why the kids like the rodeo. They love watching the kids ride the sheep. It's always good for a laugh. They love getting strawberries and cream. The number one reason they want to go? The cash cow. Here they are below getting all lined up.

Out comes the cow and hundreds of kids chase the poor thing probably scaring it half to death.

This year the cow got away really quickly. (It went right back in where it had come out of)

This was quite possibly Emma's last year of eligibility for the cash cow. She was one of the tallest out there. She came back empty handed and broken hearted.

Andrew on the other hand snagged a buck. Way to go!

A dose of strawberries made everything okay again.

Finally it was time for the real fun to begin.

I'm still on the fence about my feelings toward rodeos. I think they can be fun but I sure hate seeing what some of those animals have to go through.

One thing I know for sure is I loved was seeing these babies. Aren't they beyond precious? Gorgeous! They made me happy.

And what post would be complete these days without some Hipsta prints?
